what we believe
At The Big Red Barn Christian Academy, we believe childhood should feel like childhood. We create space for kids to learn through wonder and play—exploring freely, getting a little messy, making mistakes, and discovering confidence by doing. It’s a joyful, hands-on approach that supports the whole child while laying strong foundations for the future.
Most of all, our purpose is to gently guide your child’s first steps in a relationship with Jesus—and we count it as one of life’s greatest privileges. Through stories, games, music, movement, and worship, we help children grow a faith that can last a lifetime.

the big red barn difference
We believe children thrive in an intimate preschool environment. As a small, family-owned and operated Early Learning Center, we have just four classrooms—and none ever exceed 13 children. With fewer classrooms, children transition less often, feel more secure, and build deeper, longer-lasting relationships with the caregivers who know them best.
Because our class sizes stay small, our teachers can spend meaningful one-on-one time with every child. We’re proud to offer lower-than-average student-to-teacher ratios and to prioritize strong support for our teachers—both in the classroom and beyond—so they can show up fully for the children in their care.
our christian curriculum
At The Big Red Barn Christian Academy, we use Frog Street Curriculum, a whole-child approach that also incorporates strategies from Dr. Becky A. Bailey’s Conscious Discipline. We recognize that every child grows and develops at their own pace, which is why Frog Street is such a strong fit for our classrooms.
What we love most is how the curriculum intentionally builds on previously mastered skills—keeping learning consistent, engaging, and developmentally appropriate as children progress. It’s a thoughtful, continuous approach we value as educators, and one we believe you’ll appreciate as a parent, too.
As a Christian school, the Bible has a key role in our curriculum for learners of all ages! We focus on the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We will also teach about unconditional love and forgiveness!

After eight years of hands-on experience in early childhood education, I, Ashley Bouchard, founded The Big Red Barn in 2022 to promote self-guided exploration as a key factor in Early Childhood Education. Here at The Big Red Barn, we set ourselves apart by giving children the freedom to discover their world through firsthand experiences—because real learning happens when little ones can play, explore, and engage with curiosity.
We believe every child should develop a love for learning through play, all while being surrounded by loving, nurturing teachers who feel like an extension of your family. That’s why I place a high priority on building meaningful relationships—not only with each child in our care, but with every family we serve. Together, families and teachers support and encourage one another as we celebrate one of God’s greatest gifts: our children.

ages 6 mos. – 18 mos.
Our purpose is to help your baby blossom into their full potential! With attentive care and a genuine passion for children, we create a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment where your little one can discover the world, build confidence, and reach new milestones at their own pace.
toddlers
ages 18 mos. – 36 mos.
With their seeds planted, it’s time for your toddler to grow strong roots and build on those early foundations. By fostering healthy relationships and encouraging boundless creativity, we help your child gain confidence, deepen independence, and grow into the best version of who God created them to be.
preschool
ages 3 yrs. – 4 yrs.
With strong roots in place, it’s finally time for them to bloom! Your child will build on everything they’ve learned so far and begin developing essential early skills in reading, writing, and math—while also learning healthy habits, growing in confidence, and letting their bright, blossoming personality shine.
pre-k
ages 4 yrs. – 6 yrs.
In Pre-K, your child will focus on the essentials of kindergarten readiness. As their The Big Red Barn Christian Academy journey comes to an end, they’ll build on strong math and literacy foundations, begin exploring early science and social studies concepts, and gain valuable confidence through open-ended learning and decision-making.
